Colfax County NM Home

Colfax County was created in 1869 from Mora County which was created from Taos County, an original New Mexico county. The county originally covered the entire northeast corner of the state to the Texas border. In 1893 a portion of Colfax County was taken to create Union County. that area was divided again in 1921 to create Harding County. Census, mortality, birth, marriage, death, property and tax records or indexes.

DeBaca County NM

De Baca County was created February 28, 1917 from Guadalupe, Chaves, and Roosevelt counties. Named for Ezequiel Cabeza de Baca, the second governor of New Mexico. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,022, making it the second-least populous county in New Mexico. The county seat is Fort Sumner, NM.
